Château Sentout Wedding in South West France — Sarah & Sean
Sarah and Sean’s wedding at Château Sentout was the kind of celebration that feels almost cinematic from the very first moment. Nestled among vineyards in South West France, the château provided a beautiful and intimate setting for a destination wedding filled with warmth, emotion, and timeless elegance.
Couples from the UK, Ireland, and the United States often dream of getting married in a historic French château, and Château Sentout near Bordeaux is one of those rare places where everything comes together naturally — historic architecture, romantic gardens, and the soft golden light that makes every photograph feel magical.
As a wedding photographer based in Toulouse, I regularly photograph weddings across Occitanie, Dordogne, Bordeaux and Provence, but Château Sentout remains one of the most charming venues for couples planning a destination wedding in France.
Sarah and Sean’s day was filled with heartfelt moments, laughter, and a relaxed elegance that perfectly matched the spirit of the château.

A Love Story Wrapped in Golden Light
From the moment guests arrived at the courtyard of the château, the atmosphere felt warm and joyful. The historic stone walls, climbing vines and soft summer light created a setting that felt both elegant and relaxed.
Sarah and Sean wanted a wedding that felt natural and joyful rather than overly formal — a day where their closest friends and family could simply enjoy the moment together.
Château Sentout offered the perfect environment for that kind of celebration.
Getting Married at Château Sentout
Located in the Bordeaux region of South West France, Château Sentout is a romantic wedding venue surrounded by vineyards and peaceful countryside.
The estate offers several beautiful locations for a wedding day — from the charming stone courtyard to the famous Roseraie garden.
Many couples who dream of a château wedding in France start by exploring different venues across the country.
If you’re currently searching for the perfect venue, you may also enjoy my guide:

The Ceremony — Led by Family, Filled with Love
The ceremony took place in the shaded garden of the château, where rows of wooden chairs created a simple and elegant aisle framed by greenery.
What made this ceremony particularly touching was the personal involvement of family members. Rather than a formal structure, the ceremony felt heartfelt and genuine — the kind of moment where every guest feels emotionally present.
The laughter, tears, and quiet smiles throughout the ceremony reminded everyone that weddings are ultimately about connection.
The Roseraie — A Place of Light and Romance
After the ceremony, we moved to the Roseraie garden for portraits.
This is one of the most beautiful corners of Château Sentout — a secluded area where climbing roses, old stone walls, and soft afternoon light create a romantic atmosphere that photographers dream of.
Sarah and Sean wandered through the arches together while the golden light filtered through the vines, creating portraits that felt effortless and timeless.
These quiet moments away from the guests often become some of the most meaningful memories of the entire wedding day.
Details That Told Their Story
Sarah and Sean filled their wedding with thoughtful details that reflected their personalities and their love of French culture.
From the elegant floral arrangements to the relaxed outdoor reception, every element felt intentional without ever feeling overly styled.
The bridesmaids’ dresses brought vibrant colour to the stone courtyard, creating a beautiful contrast against the historic textures of the château.

The bridesmaids — grace, beauty, and true support
They weren’t just bridesmaids; they were true friends — beautiful inside and out — and the kind of women every bride dreams of having by her side.
Every wedding has its heartbeat, and this one came, in part, from Sarah’s incredible bridesmaids. From the early morning preparations to the final dance, they were the definition of elegance and kindness — beautifully dressed, perfectly coordinated, and always by her side.Their energy set the tone for the morning: calm, joyful, and full of laughter. They helped with the final details, shared quiet moments of reassurance, and made sure everything flowed effortlessly. In photographs, their presence added balance and warmth — soft pastel tones against the château’s stone walls, radiant smiles that reflected the happiness of the day.
An Unusual Dessert — A Tower of Cheese
One of the most memorable moments of the evening came with the cake cutting — or rather, a tower of French cheeses.
Instead of a traditional dessert, Sarah and Sean chose several layers of artisanal cheeses from different regions of France. It quickly became both a culinary highlight and a wonderful conversation piece among the guests.
Moments like these give weddings a unique personality and make the celebration feel truly personal.

Golden Hour at the Château
As the sun dipped behind the vineyards, the entire estate was bathed in warm golden light.
Golden hour is every photographer’s favourite moment of the day — when colours soften, shadows stretch gently across the gardens, and every scene becomes cinematic.
Sarah’s dress caught the light beautifully while Sean followed her through the gardens with quiet admiration. For a few minutes, the world seemed to slow down, allowing them to simply enjoy the moment together.
These portraits became some of my favourite images of the entire wedding season.
Charisma, Energy, and Celebration
What truly defined this wedding wasn’t only its beauty — it was the energy of the people present.
Sarah and Sean’s guests brought laughter, warmth, and a relaxed atmosphere that made the entire day feel joyful and alive.
It’s this kind of atmosphere that transforms a wedding from beautiful to unforgettable.
Why I Loved Photographing This Wedding
Sarah and Sean’s celebration at Château Sentout reminded me why I love photographing weddings in France.
There was authenticity, elegance, and emotion in every part of the day — from the heartfelt ceremony to the golden hour portraits beneath the vines.
For a photographer, these are the moments that make wedding photography feel like storytelling rather than documentation.

Eugénie photographed our wedding recently at Chateau Sentout in May. The wedding photos are wonderful and everything we wanted. She understood completely the vibe we wanted for them and captured it perfectly. On the day she worked so hard capturing all the special moments and was a pleasure to have there, with her bright and fun personality while also giving us good direction when we had no idea how to pose! Couldn’t recommend her enough.
