How to Prepare for a Family Photo Shoot in a Lavender Field

When I organise a family photoshoot, I want each moment to be memorable and enjoyable for everyone. Recently, I had the opportunity to do several sessions in beautiful lavender fields. Here are some personal tips to properly prepare for your session and get the most out of it.

GPS Coordinates and Parking:

First of all, the lavender field where we will meet is located here: Chateau Lecusse. For your convenience, you can park at the chateau behind the field near Chateau Lecusse.

It is not only convenient but also picturesque and adds a touch of charm to the experience.

What to Bring:

To ensure that the session goes smoothly, it is important to bring a few essentials:

Water: Remember to hydrate yourself, especially if we are spending several hours under the sun. Having water on hand is crucial to staying comfortable and in shape throughout the session.
Bug Spray: Lavender fields can attract some bugs, so bug spray will be helpful to avoid bites and keep you focused on the fun of your photoshoot.
Toys for Kids: If you’re bringing kids, bringing a few toys can help keep them occupied and happy between shots.
Snacks: A few light snacks can make all the difference. A little treat can revitalize both the little ones and the adults.
Antihistamines: If you or a family member is prone to allergies, consider bringing antihistamines to avoid any discomfort from pollen or other allergens in the lavender field.

Lavender Flowers:

I would like to point out that it will not be possible to cut flowers on site. However, if you would like to have photos with a bouquet of lavender, please feel free to bring one. It can add a personal and charming touch to your photos. I also have a lovely basket that we can use as a prop, which is always a plus for varying poses and styles.

Lavender fields provide an enchanting setting and a natural backdrop perfect for family, romantic and portrait photos. The vibrant colors and peaceful atmosphere create an ideal environment to capture unforgettable memories. I love photographing in these locations because they bring an extra dimension of beauty and serenity to each shot.
