Two ceremony settings at Château Bagen
Château Bagen offers two private ceremony locations on the property: a ceremony in front of the château with its fairytale façade as a backdrop, or a small intimate church within the grounds for a quieter, more traditional setting.
Both options are exclusive and reserved for your experience.

For couples who want something truly memorable, you can include a croquembouche creation experience.
This traditional French wedding dessert is made of delicate choux pastries stacked into an elegant tower and you can create it yourselves as part of your day.
It becomes not only a beautiful detail, but also a meaningful shared moment during your elopement.

Your photographer & guide in France
I’m Eugénie Smirnova, a wedding and elopement photographer based in South West France.
I specialise in intimate château weddings and destination elopements for couples who value elegance, atmosphere and emotional authenticity.
Beyond photography, I help you create a seamless and refined experience, guiding you through the planning process and connecting you with carefully selected local vendors.
My approach is discreet and editorial, allowing your day to unfold naturally while creating images that feel timeless and deeply personal.

What couples are saying

“Eugenie was an absolute dream to work with! From day one, she went above and beyond helping us plan the day from across the world, keeping it running smoothly, even recommending our fantastic caterer. Beyond her incredible talent, she brought so much warmth, calm, and joy to our wedding day.” Katie Macleod, elopement at Château Bagen, 2025

“I could not be more grateful that my husband and I found Eugenie for our elopement. From the beginning she was communicative, professional, and even when some plans faltered, she connected us with the lovely owner of Château de Belmont Saint Foi. Anytime someone asked me if I was stressed about our wedding plans, I could honestly answer no because of how seamless Eugenie made the entire thing.” Katie Chapman, elopement at Château de Belmont Saint Foi, 2025

FAQ. Château elopement in France
Can foreigners elope in France?
Yes, many international couples choose France for a symbolic elopement ceremony. A legal wedding in France usually requires specific residency and administrative steps, so many couples complete the legal part at home and celebrate their symbolic ceremony in France.
Where is Château Bagen located?
Château Bagen is located in South West France, a beautiful region for couples looking for a romantic château setting, historic architecture and a quieter alternative to more crowded destinations.
Is this a legal wedding package?
This experience is designed for intimate symbolic ceremonies and elopements. If you need a legal civil wedding in France, this usually requires additional administrative preparation with the local mairie.
Can you help us find vendors for our elopement?
Yes. I can connect you with trusted local vendors such as hair and make-up artists, florists, catering options, accommodation and transport providers.
How far in advance should we book a château elopement in France?
For the best availability, especially if you are travelling from abroad, I recommend starting the planning process several months in advance. This gives us time to secure the date, organise vendors and create a relaxed timeline.
