Baptism is the sacrament of the spiritual birth of a person. Some will say that this is one of the most important moments in a person’s life. Solemn and exciting, important and unique!

Choosing a professional photographer, you will have the opportunity to capture this ceremony and save all the important moments in photos.
Each photo will be unique and unrepeatable. Reading prayers, the water landing on the baby, putting on a cross — all these rituals replace each other very quickly. It is important not to miss anything, because none of this can be repeated a second time!

One day of a Toulouse christening photographer

First of all I pack my camera backpack. I always have two cameras with me: one I mostly work with and spare one, just in case. 3 fully charged batteries, so I will never run out of the power, 6 memory cards, flash, and variety of lenses. I have two memory slots on my camera, it prevents me from loosing the photos if one of the cards will be corrupted.

I make sure that I wear appropriate clothes (shoulders closed, long skirt, headscarf) if needed and heading to the home of my clients.

At your home

Before the ceremony I take photos of all the preparations: family and godparents getting ready, dressing the baby and of course some portraits. I like to come in advance and take this kind of candid photos, as later if you’ll decide to make a photo book it will help you to tell the story of this important day.

Before the ceremony

I always meet priest or reverend to discuss the rules of this particular church. There I can use a flash or not. Where I can go during the ceremony. For me it is very important not to be a disruption and make sure I am almost invisible.

After that I take photos of the church inside some beautiful details and decorations and outside.

And after that reportage begins. Friends and family arriving. Some of them didn’t see each other for a long time. Atmosphere is really great and festive. And my job here not to miss any smile or hug.

At the church

At the church there are so much important rituals and moments during the ceremony. We do not want to miss any of them: readings, singing, prayers.

That is why I always contact my clients in advance to get all the information regarding the service.

After the church

It is time for the whole group photo, photos with parents, godparents and grandparents. And again some reportage photos of course.

Photos at the reception

Are very important for the story telling. Usually you take a lot of efforts preparing this beautiful event. And I think you will agree with me that we do not want to forget about them.
Guests giving the speeches and presents, kids running around. It all deserves attention of the camera.

To sum up

As you probably noticed. Christening sessions one of my favorites. Why? Because of its unique atmosphere, because of my privilege to be part of this amazing day with you and create a little part of of your family history.
