How to Book Your Wedding Photographer in France | Eugenie Smirnova. Eugénie Smirnova — Wedding & Elopement Photographer in Southwest France

Planning a wedding in France often means making important decisions from a distance — choosing your venue, your photographer and the people who will help bring the day together.

My booking process is simple, transparent and designed to give you clarity from the very first message. Whether you are planning a château wedding, a destination wedding or an intimate celebration in Southwest France, here is exactly how we move from your first enquiry to a fully prepared wedding photography experience.

Check Your Wedding Date

A clear wedding photography booking process, without pressure

Before anything is confirmed, we make sure your date is available, your plans are understood, and the photography coverage matches the rhythm of your wedding day.

The goal is not to rush you into a decision. It is to help you understand what you need, what I can offer, and how we can create a calm, well-prepared photography experience for your wedding in France.

This process is especially helpful for international couples planning their celebration from the UK, Ireland, the United States, Europe or abroad.

I. Enquiry & Availability

The first step is to get in touch and share the essential details of your wedding: your date, venue or region, approximate guest count, and the kind of celebration you are planning.

If your date is still available, I will reply with the next steps and we can arrange a discovery call.

II. Discovery Call

The discovery call is a short conversation to understand your plans, your priorities and the atmosphere you want for your wedding day. We can talk about your venue, your timeline, the moments that matter most to you, and whether you need half-day coverage, full-day coverage or a wedding weekend experience. This call also gives you the opportunity to ask questions and make sure that my approach feels right for you.

III. Retainer & Booking Form

Once you are ready to move forward, your wedding date is secured with a retainer payment.

I can send you either a secure Stripe payment link or my bank details for a bank transfer. Dates are reserved on a first-retainer-paid basis.

At the same time, I will ask you to complete a booking form with the important details I need to prepare your photography agreement.

You can complete the booking form here

Your wedding date is officially reserved only once the retainer has been paid.

IV. Photography Agreement

After I receive your booking form, I prepare your photography agreement. The agreement confirms the wedding date, location, chosen collection, payment schedule, delivery terms and the key conditions of our collaboration. Once both sides have signed it, everything is formally confirmed.

V. Wedding Preparation

From the moment your date is booked, I remain available to help you prepare. You can ask me questions about the photography timeline, light, portrait locations, getting-ready moments, first look, group photos, ceremony timing or how much coverage you may need. For destination weddings in France, this support is especially important. Many of my couples plan their celebration from abroad, and I know how helpful it is to have a photographer who understands the local rhythm, venues and logistics.

VI. Final Details Before the Wedding

The remaining balance is due three weeks before your wedding date. Around one week before the wedding, we schedule a final call to review the timeline and all important details.
One week before the wedding we go through the key moments of the day, locations, family photos, ceremony timing, dinner plans, light conditions and any last-minute updates. This final conversation helps make the wedding day feel smooth, structured and relaxed.

VII. Wedding Day, Preview Gallery & Final Delivery

After your wedding day, I carefully edit your photographs in my signature style. Within 48 hours, you will receive a first preview gallery of approximately 20–30 edited images, so you can relive the atmosphere of the day while the full gallery is being prepared. The complete online gallery is delivered within 6 weeks. You will be able to view, download and share your photographs with family and friends.

After receiving your final gallery, you can also order a wedding album if you would like to preserve your photographs in a printed, beautifully designed format.
